Sodobna umetnost (Aljoša Abrahamsberg),
13. januar 2020
Samostojna razstava v Prepihu predstavitev razširja s preostalimi objekti iz serije in tam začrtano problemsko polje nadgrajuje z dvema novima deloma. Razstavo kurira Tjaša Pogačar. The Topical Applications 2 exhibition addresses the issue of the disappearance of the body in the beauty industry’s materials, procedures and products, from which the body reemerges as a surface to be designed and augmented. In this process the surface of the body – the skin – is not so much an attribute of physical human tissue than cosmetic products’ “special effects”. Skincare is marked by notions of a hyperdesigned surface, separated from the body and apparently untouched, pristine. Simultaneously with this exhibition, Živa Božičnik Rebec is showing her work – two objects from her previous Topical Applications project (2017) – at the 9th Triennial of Contemporary Art U3 at the Moderna galerija / Museum of Modern Art. This solo presentation in the Draught series puts the remaining objects from the said project on display, adding also two new works that expand on the topic. Exhibition is curated by Tjaša Pogačar.
